Just wondering....

We don't really "follow" pro football much, but since our TV always has a game on it or is tuned in to ESPN, I know a few of the big players' names... and I have a concern...

Someone please tell me how you get "FAR-VE" out of "Favre"?? I mean it's his last name and everything, but if I was him, I think I'd pronounce it the way it looks: "FAV-RE"

Does this bother anyone else?!?!??
Oh, and I just asked DW who "we" root for in pro, and he said the Bucs.
Good to know...

!HA! I totally agree...very strange spelling of a name, not phonetic!

"we" root for the bucs too..danny grew up in tampa so he is die hard--but they won't be very good this year, so i hear.

Haha, that is too funny!

Hilarious! We don't really follow the "pro's" either - it's tough when you live in Gator Country to follow any other team! But, since we are originally from Tampa, the Bucs is always a good bet for us too!

yes!!! It used to irk me all the time! He also needs to make up his mind if he wants to play or not, play or not, play or not!! COme on with already!!!! you could pull for the Titans if you want! :)

Annie,

That has bugged me for about 10 years!! Since I do follow pro, Dad and I used to sit around call him FAV-RE FAVRAY :) Glad it bugs everyone else too!!! I guess he couldn't be a star with a name like FAVRAY lol

I"ve never thought about it (well, maybe once or twice) but now that you mention it..it makes me crazy!
We're fans of the San Diego Chargers....Cecil played college ball with one of their players..>Clint Hart. He's a sweetheart.

HAHA...this is an odd pronunciation. Now we don't even call him FARV, we call him "the man who simply can not decide"
