Huge!

Today is a huge day and not because 7 years ago on this very day (May 18th), I was on a plane to the West Indies to spend a whole week honeymooning! (Yep, yesterday was mine & DW’s 7th anniversary). Wow. 7 years even SOUNDS like a long time. Thankfully, we’re still crazy about each other and neither of us have started to itch yet. Well, I do kind of have an itch for another weeklong trip to St. Lucia! Ha…

The real, HUGE news is something I’ve been waiting a long time for.

When I got the mail today, I saw an envelope from our county’s clerk of court addressed to ME. The only other time(s) I’ve gotten anything from the Clerk of Court, it has not been good news. It’s involved points on my license, traffic citations, etc., etc., etc.

When I saw it, I cringed, hoping DW hadn’t seen it yet. Then it hit me that it had been a LOOOONG time since I had gotten pulled over (except for a couple months ago, but I didn’t get a ticket), so I couldn’t imagine why they were sending me something. Since I knew I was innocent (until proven guilty), I pulled that thing out and asked out-loud, “what could this be about?”

DW wrinkled up his nose in disgust and said, “probably jury duty.”

OH.MY.GOSH. Can I just tell you how long I have waited for this day??? I have ALWAYS wanted to be called for jury duty!

I nearly did the happy dance right there at the office.

It’s finally my turn to do my civic duty and I couldn’t be more excited. It doesn’t take much, I know.

I will say I am a little nervous at the thought of having to OFFICIALLY be somewhere at 8:30 a.m.— it’s been a while. :)

Have ya’ll ever been called for jury duty????

I had jury duty several years ago. I didn't actually get chosen for a jury and got dismissed by 11:30 that day. Jury duty in Milwaukee sucks because there is no parking. I hope you enjoy!

I was called for Jury Duty once but I was scheduled to appear on my due date... needless to say, I couldn't do it!!! I was sooooo stinkin' disappointed!!

NO! But I have *ALWAYS* wanted to do Jury Duty! I would feel really important. Do you reckon that they will let you take pictures while you are on duty...if you tell them it is for your blog and all. You can promise not to give out any details of the cases...and you will blur out all the criminals faces. I just KNOW you are going to have stories.

Girl, I've been summoned THREE times!! Twice for county jury duty and once for the BIG jury duty. Although, I have never been. I got out of it twice and the one time I was going to go, I didn't get picked. Best of luck to ya! I hope you have fun!! :)

I officially believe you have lost your mind. LOL; I HATE JURY DUTY. They expect you to take the day (or more days) off work, and they pay you a whopping $7.00. I make that in 10 minutes at work. Maybe I should start sending them my bills? I know, I know....civic duty, blah blah blah....it's not really my civic duty. I can't help it these people can't get their act together. FORTUNATELY, I know the Judge and the D.A., so that usually turns Prosecution off as soon as they find that out, and I always get dismissed.

Ann, you're killing me! I got called for jury duty three times... twice it was settled before I got to the courthouse and the last time, I was in the jury box and didn't get chosen! All I got was a wasted day of my summer!

Too funny Annie! I can tell you that you are one of very few people that get excited over jury duty. Some of our potential jurors get down right rude with you!! I thankfully don't get to serve because I work in the Clerk's office but I have to sit in there on the Clerk's bench. Two words: it's boring!!

I was summoned to Federal Jury Duty in Gainesville a month ago. I would have loved to had it but with Federal Court they could summon you throughout the year but if your a stay at home mama then they take you out of the pile for at least 2 years.

I have such mixed feelings on being called for jury durty. On one hand, I love the thought of you sitting up in the jury box and looking all official, while feeling like an episode of Law & Order, but I think county court might be a little different ;) I would be so scared someone I went to high school with would be the case...You know it's possible! (I'm not just saying that b/c you're a BHS grad! Ha!)

Happy REALLY belated Anniversary. Now, I have to say, I've never heard of someone that excited about jury duty. Glad you were happy about it :)
