Sneak Peek…

Tonight, Annabelle & Allie are hosting their “first annual” Pumpkin Party. We’re calling it first annual, in hopes that it will be a success and be something that we do every year.

Our formal dining room is party central and has looked like this for the better part of three weeks as we’ve gathered stuff for the party. 2010-10-13_17-17-55_274

All week we’ve been getting ready for the big night. We’ve spent so much time with Aunt Carrie & Allie this week that we’ll sure miss them when the party is over and life turns into normal again next week! Here’s a few pictures of the week from my phone…

On Monday afternoon, the girls came over to go out to the lodge to finalize our shopping list and plans.

On Wednesday, we met them in town, and made our big trip to Sam’s, Wal-Mart, Michael’s and the party shop. 2010-10-13_09-41-08_784 If being a good girl on a shopping trip is what get’s you a pumpkin party, I know two little girls who WOULD NOT be having one! Ha… The girls were a HANDFUL that day!

Carrie and I went all kinds of crazy and decided to break our traditional lunching routine. Typically, we go either to Chick-Fil-A or to McAlisters. Carrie knew it was Chicken Pot Pie day, though, at the Cracker Barrel, so we went there. Yep, some might go somewhere they don’t frequent often or somewhere NEW, not us…when we stray from the ordinary, we stick to the familiar. Ha..

The girls were good at lunch and loved rocking on the front porch at Cracker Barrel and even took in a game of checkers! :) 2010-10-13_12-25-12_847

Yesterday, Carrie & Allie came to our house and  we worked on finishing up a few decorations and last minute details. We finished up the table centerpieces and a few other things. DSC_3322 The girls played (and fought) outside and had a big time.  They both LOVE to share these days. Ha.2010-10-14_11-02-23_387I can’t believe I posted this picture of my girl who’d spilled juice all down the front of her shirt and yanked the bow out of her hair, BUT, check out her face! She’s giving Allie quite the stink eye…This is when they decided to “trade” shoes… AB’s crocs are the pink ones, and somehow she’d managed to get one of Allie’s green ones on… What you can’t see is that Allie’s wearing AB’s pink water boots…If Allie is going to give up any pair of shoes, it will be for some boots! :) She kept walking around the garage and yard saying, “MY BOOTS, MY BOOTS”…

We worked hard to get a picture of them in their costumes to have one framed at the party… and this is the best we got…printpumpkin

Along with sharing, they LOVE to sit still and take pictures, too. (Ha., AGAIN).

Carrie and I thought the girls would be dolls dressed as pumpkins hosting their “pumpkin party”…and they are! They are SOMETHING in their costumes—they both love them! AB cries when I take hers off…. And their sequined black flats we found at Wal-Mart? She threw down and HAD to wear them to dinner Wednesday night with my parents. I can’t believe that she’s already got such an opinion and she’s not even TWO yet! She’s worn them around the house ALL WEEK…2010-10-13_16-29-08_188

This morning, we’ll all meet at the lodge to start setting up for our little friends and their families who will arrive later this evening, and to say we’re excited, is an understatement!

Y'all will have the best time. Now, don't try to convince me that those two were bad during y'alls big shopping trip. I still see that halo a'shining over AB and AC's heads :) I love their costumes! That pic of AB giving the stink eye is too cute. I'm glad you posted it, especially with her wearing AC's green croc. lol. Love it. And y'alls centerpieces are very pretty. I hope that the party goes well.

We are very excited!!!!! I'm only slightly nervous about getting 2 boys fed and a pumpkin carved without the help of hubs, but it will be fine. Lord PLEASE cool it off some before we go outside and get HOT.

Those Punkins are precious!! We're trying to nap now so we can be in good form this evening...I'll tell you, bribery is a good thing. No nap, no party!!

Y'all planned and executed one CUTE pumpkin party!!! Pat yourselves on the back, put your feet up, and relax a little (preferably with a glass of sweet tea in hand)! :)
