Be Mine....

I don't decorate big for the little holidays, but I do like to put out a few things. I mean, really, how hard is it to dump some conversation hearts in a hurricane jar?!?! Plus, how can I, being the granddaughter of Peggy Quincey, skip out on a chance to put glittered hearts up in my house? My Granny loves anything sparkly---and anything that's red or black... those are her signature colors. Living in a Gator household, Valentine's is the ONLY time I am permitted to putting the colors red and black together. Not to mention the fact that this is the only time of year that red and pink actually look good together, amen?

I love seeing what everyone else does around their houses for holidays, etc, and I love getting ideas from other blogs. I saw this copycat Williams-Sonoma vintage valentine wreath on a blog the other day and thought it was so cute that I'd make one for myself! I had never visited this blog before, but was glad that I stumbled across that day to see this wreath...

Here's how to make it...

First, I googled vintage Valentine pictures, printed and cut them out. (I saved my images as a Word Doc, so if you want to make one, I can email it to ya, to save you some time searching.)

Then, I took a Styrofoam wreath and covered it with some scraps of red material.

After the wreath was all covered, I started placing the valentines and gluing them down with my hot glue gun.

I found some scraps of ribbon I had and tied a bow on that baby...I think it turned out really cute...

Wouldn't these vintage valentines make the cutest garland???

I hung my wreath in the window over our bar, and I think it would look better if I had wider ribbon, but I was using what I had!
