We had one day left on our Disney tickets. It’s been a busy spring and we haven’t been able to plan a trip, so we took a Sunday and went down for the day.
We knew it was already late enough in the Spring that it would be hot and crowded, so we set our expectations low. We’ve already been to Disney twice this year, so we went with the mindset that if we only got to do a few things, it wasn’t a big deal. We also didn’t feel like it would be a waste if we didn’t stay all day or try to cram as much in as we could.
Our first stop was to see the main Mouse. Talking Mickey is my favorite. It’s pure magic for little kids and its the sweetest thing to watch.
Tucker was beside himself excited for his turn to see Mickey.
We made our way down Main Street and into FantasyLand to ride a few rides. We hit the Little Mermaid, Dumbo and the Barnstormer, before going back by Be Our Guest to see if we could get in for an early lunch.
As luck would have it, they had room for us! This time we ate in the dark and scary West Wing.
Mamie was excited to see the rose and enjoyed watching the picture change.
After lunch, Grammy took Tucker to see Donald and Goofy and we took the girls to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad.
When we were walking back to meet Mom & Tucker, a Disney worker stopped the girls and asked them if they wanted some cotton candy, and gave them each a bag. They were so excited and so were we. Who ever gets anything for FREE at Disney?!?!?
We saw the line for cowboy Chip & Dale, so we jumped in to see them.
They were super cute and fun with all the kids.
On our way to TomorrowLand, we happened up on Mary Poppins. We were like second in line to see her and I was telling Maybree and Tucker about her, and that she was a nanny, who took care of kids. She was fantastic- when we walked up she said (in her British accent), “well, who do we have here?” The girls introduced themselves and then Tucker did, too. She asked them if they’d “been doing their chores and picking up their toys and keeping their rooms tidy.” The girls assured her they had, but that’s when Tucker checked out. He turned from her and looked at the ground and wouldn’t even look at her. She said, “hello? Hello?? Are you going to answer me?” He slowly turned and looked over his shoulder and out of no where said, “I’m go-ed to Monser Jam.” She acted confused and said, “Monster Jam? Well that sounds terrifying.” It was the cutest character experience we’ve ever had. We have the whole thing on video and I’m so glad. It was just too cute.
After the visit with Mary, we hit the teacups and then made our way to TomorrowLand. None of us have ever ridden Walt’s Carousel of Progress, so we did it this time. We did Buzz’s Space Ranger Spin and then saw the galactic giant himself.
We got great seats and caught the afternoon parade…
After the parade we decided to call it a day.
Since we’d decided to leave earlier than we normally would, we stopped for a good dinner at the Texas Roadhouse before heading home. It was kids night and there was a magic/balloon man going from table to table doing tricks. He made the kids the cutest balloon animals and showed them some magic tricks. The best was when he told them a joke and then Maybree told him she had a joke for him. I was totally expecting it to be something that made no sense, and was shocked when she said, “what’s the loudest color??? And when he didn’t know she said, “YELL-ow” Ha. Apparently Mamie’s got jokes we didn’t even know she had.
It was another great trip to Disney!
