The Summer got off to a slow start, and the first few weeks seemed to drag by. But July hit, and I feel like we blinked and it’s already time to go back to school.
The week before school started, we marked off the few things we had left to do… supply shopping, haircuts, meet the teacher, Mamie’s backpack came in, and we even had a fun day going to breakfast and then getting manicures.
I think we’re all ready for the routine the school year brings. Mamie is super excited about being a big kindergartener, but not excited that she doesn’t get to start school the same day as her big sister. AB is super excited about being at the “big” elementary school this year and getting to see Grammy everyday at school.
We had our Annual Back to School Breakfast two times since AB & Mamie started back on different days. AB requested Monkey Bread & bacon for her first day and Mamie wanted cheese grits & sausage on hers.
Annabelle’s was first and DW & I were silently high-fiving each other that she’s not too big to not want us to walk her to her classroom yet.
Mamie started the next day and after we dropped AB at her school, we went to Mamie’s and walked her to her room.
Tucker will sure miss the girls, but I think he’s also ready to have the roost all to himself for a few hours every day, again.
I can’t believe this is his last year at home.
Both girls had great first days and the only complaint was that Maybree didn’t get to/have to go back for a whole week because our school does Kindergarten stagger start. They both think that’s so unfair! Ha.
Tucker & Mames the day staggering was over & she (FINALLY!) got to go full time! ;)
