Annabelle has been looking forward to her Spring field trip for weeks!
Nie-Nie kept Mamie & Tucker that day, so I could join her for a day at the Jacksonville Zoo.
The kids have to all ride the bus to the field trip, but can ride home with their parents, and AB was excited she got to sit with Emma on the bus.
When the buses unloaded, we set out to start our trek around the zoo. We had one little girl who didn’t have a parent with her in our group, so we had to make sure to have her back to catch the bus home by 3:30. It was after 11:00 before we got started, so we knew we had a lot of ground to cover and not a whole lot of time.
The kids loved seeing all the animals, and even enjoyed the creepy snakes. Yuck. We hit the Africa section of the zoo first and then stopped for lunch. After lunch, we went to the stingray pool and they all really enjoyed getting to touch those!
We made our way over to see the giraffes and all of the kids enjoyed getting to feed them, too.
We saw a few more exhibits before heading to see the tigers.
Of course snow cones were a MUST. If we heard “I want a snow cone once we heard it a hundred times. Finally we found them and all was right in their little six year old world. :)
Our last big stop was the train ride, and then we ran in the kids’ gift shop.
On our way out, we let the kids ride the carousel and then we hit the road.
We had packed swimsuits and a change of clothes for the kids because we’d hoped to let them play in the splash park area of the zoo, but we just ran out of time.
Another fun field trip for sure! The next one we’ll go on, our big girl will be in FIRST grade! How’d that happen?!?!?! :)
