The week leading up to Christmas is always full of fun.
The school days are usually half-days and the only thing on the agenda is fun.
The girls were excited for pajama day and both enjoyed movies in their classrooms that day.
On the last day of school before Christmas Break, Emma came home with AB and we did Gingerbread houses. We did the same thing when they were in Pre-K. Crazy how much they’ve grown since then.
DW always takes the girls on a daddy-daughter date to do some Christmas shopping. While they were off shopping, Tucker took Grammy & I on a dinner and shopping date, too. He picked Culvers & Bass Pro. Such a ladies man. Ha.
On another night that week, we had the cousin Gingerbread house making night at our house.
We weren’t sure we would get to do our light-looking scavenger hunt with Adam & Lauren this year, since Quinn made number 9 when we’re all together. We borrowed Pappy’s Suburban though, and I may have done a little law-breaking for the sake of Christmas tradition and family fun. ;)
The girls were excited about taking gifts to their teachers, and this year we did a little treat for the school staff that work the car line every day and their special area teachers. We hit Bath & Body for holiday scented hand soaps and tied them up really cute with a box of peanut brittle. The girls loved helping get everything together and passing them out through the car window at drop off on the last morning of school.
I’m loving the seasonal soaps and home plug-ins from Bath & Body/White Barn Candle right now. I used the Fall ones for September-October, and then as soon as November came around I transitioned to the Christmas ones. Our house smelling like the season makes me so happy. It doesn’t take much. Ha.
The girls and I did our holiday baking and it’s always a favorite, too. I didn’t take any pictures of them this year. Boo!
On the 23rd, the construction company had it’s annual employee BBQ at lunch. We made desserts and joined the crew for the lunch. Tucker’s favorite part was the clean-up. Pappy got the loader to haul the trash off, and when Parker & Tucker (who were playing in one of the truck beds) saw him, they flipped out and thought he wasn’t going to stop to let them ride with him. It was as dramatic and emotional as you can get. Then, within seconds, when they realized they were going to get to ride, too, everything was right in their little boy world.
Nie-Nie took one for the team, like usual, and rode too, so they could both go.
There was no stopping them on the equipment once they got the loader ride. They threw down for a dump truck ride, and a ride on the little excavator, too.
Who needs Christmas morning presents now? Those boys couldn’t have been any happier.
